F4M stands for "female for male". It is a tag used on scripts and audio to show who is speaking and who is being addressed: a woman performer, a male listener. The listener is "you" in the script, and the performer speaks directly to him.

Where the tag comes from

It began in online communities that share scripts for voice actors, where each post needed to say who was speaking and to whom. The pattern is simple: first letter for the speaker, "4" for "for", last letter for the listener. A short list:

F4M and ASMR

The tag describes the roles; ASMR describes the sound. Most F4M adult audio uses ASMR techniques, such as whisper and close microphone placement, and often binaural audio to place the voice around the listener's head. The pairing creates the closeness that makes the format work.

Variations
