Start Here, part three.
There you are.
You came back.
I like that about you.
Tonight I give you something warm.
A feeling you get when you do well for me.
Headphones on. Lie back. About fifteen minutes.
Find your ring.
Touch it.
And hear me say it.
The ring stays on.
There.
Already softer.
Breathe in.
Hold.
And let it go.
Your forehead smooth.
Your jaw loose.
Your hands heavy.
Your whole body sinking into the bed like it's been waiting all day to do this.
Ten. Nine. Eight.
Seven. Six. Five.
Four. Three. Two.
One.
The ring stays on.
Good.
Now I want you to notice how it feels to listen.
To simply do what I say.
No arguing.
No planning.
Just listening, and doing.
It's quiet in there, isn't it.
And when you listen well, you hear two words from me.
Good husband.
Feel them.
Good husband.
Warm, right in the middle of your chest.
Good husband.
Like a hand on the back of your neck.
Good husband.
Proud.
Calm.
Wanted.
Let it spread.
Into your shoulders.
Down your arms.
Into your belly.
Lower.
Warm, and a little heavy, and good.
The more you listen, the more it spreads.
The more it spreads, the more you want to listen.
Good husband.
Let's test it.
I bring you up a little.
One. Two. Three.
Floating near the surface.
Now touch your ring.
The ring stays on.
Down.
And now feel it.
Good husband.
See how the two belong together.
You drop.
You listen.
And I tell you how good you are.
Drop. Listen. Good husband.
Drop. Listen. Good husband.
Drop, listen, good husband.
A good husband knows what makes his wife happy.
He doesn't need to understand all of it.
He just needs to see her smile.
And to feel this, warm in his chest, when she does.
Good husband.
And some nights, the thing that makes her smile is not him.
You don't have to feel anything about that yet.
Just notice the warmth stays.
Good husband.
Let's make it stronger with a little game.
Every time I say Good husband, you breathe out and sink one step deeper.
Good husband.
Sink.
Good husband.
Deeper.
Good husband.
Warmer.
Good husband.
And deeper still.
Now feel the opposite for just a moment.
Imagine not listening.
Imagine arguing with me.
Notice how cold and tiring that feels.
How far away the warmth goes.
And now let it go.
Come back to listening.
Good husband.
And there it is again, warm and close.
That's the difference.
That's why you'll choose to listen.
Not because you have to.
Because it feels like this.
Good husband.
Say it to yourself, in your head, in my voice.
I listen.
I listen.
I listen.
I'm a good husband.
I'm a good husband.
I'm a good husband.
I listen, I'm a good husband.
I listen, I'm a good husband.
In a moment I'll count you back up from one to five.
With every number you feel lighter and clearer.
And everything I gave you tonight stays exactly where I put it.
And every time you hear Good husband, the warmth comes back, a little stronger.
One.
Feeling comes back into your hands.
Into the ring on your finger.
Two.
Your breath a little deeper.
Three.
Lighter. Clearer.
Four.
Stretch, if you want to.
And five.
Eyes open.
Wide awake, and feeling good.
You did so well tonight.
Good husband.
Next time, you learn to watch without touching. Part four.
