Netori: meaning

Also: netori meaning, netori genre, stealing a partner

netori meaning
Netori: Netori means "taking" a partner away from someone, the active side of a three-way story. In fiction it is told from the point of view of the one who steals. It sits beside netorare, told from the loser's side, and netorase, where the partner arranges it.

Netori is a Japanese word for winning over someone who already belongs to another person. The name comes from the same root as the better-known NTR family, and it describes one specific storytelling angle: the camera sits with the taker, not with the partner left behind.

Where the word comes from

The verb toru means "to take". Netori joins it to a prefix meaning "to steal away", so the whole term reads as "stealing a partner". It belongs to a trio that fans of the genre use constantly:

TermWhose point of viewWho drives it
NetoriThe one who stealsThe taker
NetorareThe one who is leftThe taker, against the partner's will in the plot
NetoraseThe partner who hands her overThe husband or boyfriend

Because Western listeners mostly meet the genre through the second word, netori often gets used loosely. If a story is told by the man who seduces someone's wife and enjoys the conquest, that is netori. If it is told by the husband who finds out and aches, that is netorare.

In my own recordings the slow-build part is the point. A long, quiet approach carries more charge than any single event, which is why slow burn pacing suits this material so well.

Netori in anime and manga often leans on trickery or pressure, which is exactly where real-life ethics stop. In my library everything is adult, consensual fantasy: the wife chooses, the husband knows, and the "stealing" is theatre. If you want the same thrill with the honesty built in, look at hotwife and cuckold role-play, where the husband is in on it. The comparison is covered in NTR vs cuckold.

Netori versus a real affair

An affair is secret and harmful to somebody. Netori is a fiction genre, and even when a man in a story boasts about stealing a wife, the listener knows it is a performance. The moment a real person is deceived, it stops being fantasy. My rule on every recording is the same: the husband is informed, the wife is willing, and everyone can stop the scene.

If you want to hear how a seduction from the other man's side sounds with a husband present at the edges, try Part 4 of Start Here, then read what NTR ASMR is.

Frequently asked questions

Is netori the same as NTR?

Netori is one branch of the NTR family. NTR usually means netorare, told from the left-behind partner's side. Netori flips the camera to the person who does the taking, so the tone is triumphant instead of aching.

Is netori the same as cuckolding?

No. In cuckolding the husband usually knows and often wants it. In netori fiction the taker is usually the hero and the husband is a rival who is kept in the dark. Consensual role-play can borrow its mood without any deception.

What is the opposite of netori?

Netorare is the mirror image, told by the one who loses the partner. Netorase is a third angle where the partner arranges the sharing himself, which is closest to hotwifing.
