Lockup: meaning
Also: chastity lockup, lock period, locked streak

A lockup is one continuous locked stretch. It starts when the lock clicks and ends when it opens for release. People count it in days, sometimes in hours at the start. "Day 12 of lockup" is a normal sentence in chastity forums.
What counts and what resets
| Event | Counts as a break? |
|---|---|
| Short unlock for cleaning, back on the same day | Usually no |
| Unlock overnight | Often yes, agree in advance |
| Orgasm or release | Yes, the count resets |
| Accidental opening | Agree beforehand |
Agree the rules before you start. A chastity contract can state what counts. Without a rule, a count loses meaning.
Typical lengths

Beginners lock for a few hours, then a night, then a weekend. A realistic first goal is seven days. Longer lockups of a month are common in Locktober and no-nut challenges. Beyond that, break for skin and health. The medical limit is individual; see how long you can wear a cage.
Counting methods
- A wall calendar with a mark per day, visible to the keyholder.
- A phone note with the start date and tally.
- A spoken count each night. This is the one I use in audio: the number said aloud makes it real, as in Count My BBC Taps, Cucky.
Why a count helps

The number gives you something to protect. After nine days nobody wants to restart at zero. That pressure is part of the appeal and also a danger: do not push through pain just to keep a streak. Skin health beats any number.
Milestones
Many couples set small marks: 3 days, 7 days, 14 days, 30 days. At each one the wife can add a reward or a task. A rest unlock at the milestone, with no release, resets nothing and keeps skin healthy.
The end of a lockup
When the time comes, plan it. Clean the device, check the skin, and decide whether the next stretch starts that night. Read unlocking after long chastity for what to expect after a long stretch. For a simple start, your first week lays out the days.
A simple tracking card
Write four lines on a card: start date, current day, last check, next milestone. Pin it where she sees it. Add a small note at each milestone about how he felt, whether skin stayed healthy and whether the rules need changing. After a few lockups the cards show patterns: which week is hardest, which day brings leaking, which reward works. That record is more useful than any single streak.
Finally, decide in advance what a good lockup looks like: not the longest, but the one that ends with healthy skin, a happy keyholder and a wearer who wants to go again.
Examples in a sentence
- His current lockup was at day eleven and still going.
- A thirty-day lockup ended with a planned release.
- She counted the lockup aloud each night before turning off the light.
Frequently asked questions
What is a lockup in chastity?
One continuous locked period, counted in days from lock to release. The count resets after an orgasm or agreed unlock. It is a way to track progress and share it with a keyholder.
How long should a first lockup be?
Aim for a few hours the first day, a night after that, and a weekend by the end of the first week. Seven days is a good beginner target, with cleaning breaks as needed.
Does unlocking to clean reset the lockup?
Only if you both agreed it does. Most couples treat a short cleaning unlock as part of the same lockup, as long as no release happens and the device goes back on promptly.
