Yes No Maybe List for Hotwife and Cuckold Couples (With 80 Items)
By Juliet Monroe · updated 2026-10-18 · 6 min read

A yes no maybe list is the quickest honest way to find out what you both want. Each of you gets the same list of activities and marks every line yes, no or maybe. You do it alone, in silence, then compare. Overlaps become your starting menu, differences become conversations, and nobody has to say a risky sentence out loud before they have read the reaction on paper.
Below is a ready-made list built for hotwife and cuckold couples, with a method for filling it in and using what you find.
How to fill in a yes no maybe list
- Print it twice or copy it into two files. Do not share a screen. Answers shaped by the other person's face are not honest answers.
- Fill it in alone, without talking. Allow 30 to 45 minutes. Do not rush; the maybes are the interesting ones.
- Mark by gut feeling, not by what you think you ought to want. A "no" is as useful as a "yes".
- Add two columns if you like: a hot mark for things that really excite you, and an ask first mark for things that need a specific conversation.
- Swap and read. Choose a calm moment, not mid-argument and not mid-scene. See how to negotiate a kink scene for what comes next.
Meanings:
| Mark | Means |
|---|---|
| Yes | I want this, or I am happy to do it |
| Maybe | Curious, nervous, or depends on context; needs a talk |
| No | A boundary for now; no pressure, no bargaining |
A "no" can change, but only because the person changes it, never because they were worn down.

Customising the list
Eighty items will not cover everything, and some will not apply to you. Strike what is irrelevant, then add your own lines in the same style. Good additions are specific: a named situation ("a date at a hotel on a weeknight"), a role ("me choosing her outfit"), or a worry ("she mentions him in front of friends"). Avoid vague lines such as "being more adventurous", because two people read them differently. Give each added line a number so both of you can refer to it. If your list grows beyond a hundred items, split it into two evenings; fatigue makes people tick maybe for everything just to finish.
For couples who are brand new to all this, mark only the first three groups the first time. Return to the later groups once you have tried something from the earlier ones.
Comparing the lists

Lay both lists side by side and sort every line into five piles.
| Pile | What to do |
|---|---|
| Yes / Yes | Your menu. Start with the gentlest items. |
| Yes / Maybe | Ask the maybe partner what would make it a yes. |
| Maybe / Maybe | Pilot it in a small, reversible form. |
| Yes / No | The no stands. Talk about the need behind the yes. |
| No / No | Take it off the table. |
Treat the "no" side as the more important side. If her no is a no for now, it does not matter how long he has dreamed of it. If his no is a no, your hotwife does not need to push either. Some couples like to give each "no" a different label: not now, not ever, not with that person. Those distinctions save a lot of misunderstanding.
Turning the maybes into a plan
Pick three Yes/Yes items and one Maybe/Maybe item for the next month. Write down:
- what you will do,
- what would make either of you stop,
- how long you will try it,
- when you will talk about it afterwards.
A maybe becomes a yes when it is small enough to try and reversible enough to stop. For a softer start, use the gentle steps in cuckold boundaries and safewords, and consider listening together to Start Here Part 2: Touch Your Ring as a no-pressure first shared experience.
Common mistakes

- Treating a maybe as a yes. A maybe is a question, not an invitation.
- Rushing the comparison. Read first, react later.
- Using the list to win. If you quote line 39 at her during an argument, the list is dead.
- Never repeating it. Tastes shift. Redo the list every six months, and always after a major change in life, job or health.
- Forgetting the soft limits. Some items are not hard no's but need conditions; see soft limit.
When the lists do not match
Sometimes one partner has marked far more yes answers than the other. That is information, not a verdict. Look at the reasons: nerves, upbringing, past hurt, timing. Choose three of the lowest-risk items from the longer list and try them for a month, with a pause button. If the gap does not close, signs hotwifing is not right for you can help you decide what to keep.
Done well, a yes no maybe list turns a frightening conversation into a quiet evening with a pen. If you want a place to begin the habit of saying what you want, the free Start Here course gives both of you the same story to react to, which can make the first answers easier.
Frequently asked questions
What is a yes no maybe list?
A checklist of sexual and relationship activities where each partner marks yes, no or maybe, privately. You then compare answers. It reveals overlap, makes boundaries clear, and turns hard conversations into a simple review of two pages of paper.
How do you fill out a yes no maybe list as a couple?
Separately and silently, with no discussion while writing. Mark by gut feeling, take 30 to 45 minutes, then swap lists in a calm moment. Sort answers into Yes/Yes, Yes/Maybe, Maybe/Maybe and No piles and discuss one pile at a time.
What should we do with the maybes?
Treat each as a question. Ask what would turn it into a yes, then try a small reversible version with a clear stop rule. Do not treat a maybe as consent for the full version.
How often should we redo the list?
Every six months, and after any big change such as a new job, illness, move or a difficult experience. Preferences move, and a list from two years ago may no longer describe either of you.
What if my partner marks more no answers than I do?
Respect them. Ask about the feeling behind the no, not for a reason to change it. Build your menu from the shared yes answers, and revisit the list later without pressure.
