Locktober Challenge Ideas: 31 Daily Challenges for a Locked October
By Juliet Monroe · updated 2026-10-18 · 6 min read

Locktober challenge ideas work best when they are small, daily and varied: one task for each of the thirty-one days, grouped into four weekly themes, with a safety check at the end of every week. Below is a complete calendar, followed by rewards, rules for the key and advice for unlocking early without feeling you have failed. If you want the background to the month itself, read the Locktober guide first.
I write these as a wife who enjoys holding a key. If you are new to chastity, the guide to your first week in a cage and the free Start Here course will prepare you better than any calendar can.
Before you begin
- Fit. A cage that pinches in the first hour will hurt on day twelve. See chastity cage for beginners for sizing and materials.
- Test wear. Wear it for a full weekend before the month begins.
- Key plan. Decide who holds the key, where it lives and who can open the box. A solo plan needs a timer lockbox, a human keyholder is better.
- Hygiene routine. A daily clean is not optional. The steps are in how to clean a chastity cage.
- Safety rules. Numbness, colour change, swelling or pain mean take it off. No challenge is worth an injury.
- Goal. Choose one: full month, 31 days with weekly breaks, or a partial month with a fixed finish.
Week one: Settle in (days 1-7)

The aim is comfort and routine. Nothing dramatic.
- Day 1: The photograph. Take a front-facing picture of the lock on, then delete it or send it only to your keyholder.
- Day 2: Morning ritual. Wake, wash, check the skin, say one line of intent aloud.
- Day 3: Write your reason. One paragraph on why you wanted this month. Keep it where you can see it.
- Day 4: Wear it to work or errands. Notice what you notice.
- Day 5: A calm evening. Listen to The Tap, no screens afterwards.
- Day 6: Skin day. Soak, clean, dry thoroughly, check for redness.
- Day 7: Weekly report. Send or write a short message to your keyholder: comfort, mood, anything to adjust.
Week two: Build habits (days 8-14)
- Day 8: Thank-you note. Write a short message to your wife or keyholder for holding the key.
- Day 9: Posture. Practise sitting and standing tall for ten minutes. It changes how the cage sits.
- Day 10: A mantra. Choose one sentence, such as “I am kept.” Repeat it three times at lunch.
- Day 11: No pornography. Replace it with a book, a walk or an audio session.
- Day 12: Service. Do one chore she has not mentioned.
- Day 13: Ask nicely. Ask your keyholder one question about her day and listen to the whole answer.
- Day 14: Halfway-ish report. Review mood, sleep, appetite and skin. Adjust fit if needed.
Week three: Deepen (days 15-21)

- Day 15: A longer tease. Spend twenty minutes with your wife, kissing only.
- Day 16: Evening wear. Dress for dinner as if she were taking you out.
- Day 17: Write a letter you will never send, about what you want next year.
- Day 18: Listen to a short session with eyes closed. Her Text Says Stay works well.
- Day 19: A dare. Do something small outside your comfort: a compliment, a call, a task you have avoided.
- Day 20: Reset the space. Clean the bedroom, change the sheets, prepare it for her.
- Day 21: Three-week check. Take stock honestly and photograph the lock for yourself.
Week four: Finish with purpose (days 22-31)
- Day 22: Touch your ring and say what your marriage means to you today.
- Day 23: Ask for a reward, in words, to be given only if she wishes.
- Day 24: Quiet day. No phone after seven.
- Day 25: Tell her something you appreciate that she has not heard before.
- Day 26: A hard day. Do your hardest task first, before breakfast.
- Day 27: Read a chapter from a book you started and left.
- Day 28: Four-week report. Compare the day-seven report with today.
- Day 29: The plan. Agree with your keyholder what happens on the last day: release, a ruined finish, a pause or a longer extension.
- Day 30: Preparation. Clean the cage, prepare the space and rest.
- Day 31: The finish. Follow the plan, then write down what you learned.

Weekly safety check

Every seventh day, do this without being asked.
| Check | Healthy | Stop and unlock |
|---|---|---|
| Skin | Slight pressure marks that fade | Open sores, rash, blisters |
| Colour | Normal | Blue, purple, very pale |
| Sensation | Normal | Numbness, tingling, pain |
| Swelling | None | Bulging, pinching |
| Sleep | Mostly fine | Waking in pain |
| Mood | Steady | Spiralling into resentment or anxiety |
Rewards that keep the month moving
- A weekly massage from your wife, key in hand.
- A dinner you cook for her chosen on her terms.
- A tease session with no release, but with praise.
- A new audio session listened to together.
- A handwritten note from her, kept in your wallet.
- An unlock day at the end of week two, if the arrangement allows it, for hygiene and rest.
- A release at the end of the month on her terms.
Rewards should not be bribes. They exist to make the month feel like a shared project.
Rules for the key

- One keyholder, one key. A spare key lives with a trusted third person or in a sealed envelope, for medical emergencies only.
- No bargaining at night. Requests wait until the following morning.
- The keyholder can say no without explanation.
- The wearer may say stop if there is pain. No dispute.
- If you use a timer lockbox, set the time conservatively. Ten days is plenty for a first run.

If you need to unlock early
Unlocking early is not failure. It is judgement. Reasons that count: skin damage, illness, travel where the cage is a problem, a medical appointment, or a mood that has turned sour. The simplest way to handle it:
- Unlock.
- Rest and clean for 24 hours.
- Talk with your keyholder about what happened.
- Decide whether to re-lock and continue, shorten the month, or finish.
A month interrupted with honesty is worth more than a month completed in discomfort.
Adapting the calendar to your situation
Not every Locktober looks alike. A few adjustments I recommend:
- Solo with a timer lockbox. Choose the shorter weeks: seven days, a rest day, then seven more. Replace the keyholder reports with a daily journal entry, and put a note in your calendar for the unlock times.
- With a keyholder who works long hours. Replace the face-to-face challenges with written ones. Reports by message at a fixed time each evening work well.
- Travelling during the month. Check the rules for the airport and the hotel, and consider unlocking for the trip. The guide on airport security and chastity cages explains what to expect.
- Partner who is only mildly interested. Skip the weekly rewards and the ceremonial reports. Use the daily list as a private structure and tell her only what she wants to hear.
- Experienced wearer. Add a weekly “hard day”: an extra task, an earlier bedtime or a no-screens evening. Keep the safety table unchanged.
A one-line daily log
Keep a notebook beside the bed with one line per day: the date, a number from one to five for comfort, a number from one to five for mood, and one sentence. After thirty-one days you will see the shape of the month, including the days that were harder than you remembered and the days you did better than you expected. Many wearers say the log was the most useful part of the challenge, because it showed them what a wise keyholder already knew.
Making the month a story
Locktober is more enjoyable when it has a shape. Keep a one-line daily log. Share a weekly report. Choose a theme: obedience, patience, gratitude, trust. Pair it with one nightly practice, such as the affirmation Say It Back Every Night. By day 31, you will have a short record of a month in which you were present for your marriage, even if you did nothing more daring than tidy a bedroom.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Locktober challenge?
It is a daily task or prompt for each day of October while you wear a chastity device. Challenges keep the month varied, build a routine around the lock and give you and your keyholder things to share beyond the simple fact of being locked.
How long should a beginner stay locked in Locktober?
Many beginners do better with a shorter plan: one week, then a break, then another week. If you test wear first and clean daily, a full month is possible, but it is not a requirement. Comfort and skin health matter more than the calendar.
Can I unlock during Locktober for hygiene?
Yes. Many keyholders allow a supervised unlock every few days for a proper wash, a skin check and rest. Treat it as maintenance, not release, and re-lock immediately afterwards if the plan continues.
Who should hold the key?
A trusted human, usually your wife or partner, gives the best experience. A timer lockbox is an alternative if you are solo, but set it for a short period and keep an emergency way to open it.
What if I fail a challenge?
Skip it, note why and carry on. The month is a practice, not a pass-or-fail exam. If you are using a keyholder, tell her honestly and let her decide what, if anything, follows.
